Do You Need Renter’s Insurance?
Some people think they don’t need renter’s insurance because they don’t have anything of value. This is NOT TRUE. Your personal belongings are important and valuable. What about your couch, clothes, shoes, etc.?
Renter’s insurance also covers other important things. What if you couldn’t stay in your home because of a fire? Renter’s insurance gives you loss of use coverage, so you can stay in a hotel or temporary apartment.

HERE ARE PETER’S PICKS FOR WEEK 4
TANTASQUA (2-1) over BARTLETT (1-2) AT MEMORIAL FIELD WEBSTER FRIDAY 7PM
I thought the hometown Injuns had a shot against Nipmuc last week. I did have some concerns about Bartlett’s interior lines going into the game, but not to the tune of giving up 51 points. This week’s opponent is Tantasqua and is a traditional foe from the old Border Conference days and both teams know each other well enough to give the fans an entertaining game. Bartlett can score, but they have to stop the other team.Tantasqua has beaten a so so Southbridge team in it’s opener and found a way to beat Doherty before losing to Northbridge last week. The Doherty win tells me that Tantasqua is tough.Bartlett has Uxbridge next week at Uxbridge. Can the Indians beat Tantasqua and Uxbridge and go 3-2 before they meet Shepherd Hill? Bartlett’s season really depends on the next two games.
SHEPHERD HILL (2-1) over GARDNER (2-0) AT GHS FRIDAY 7PM
A key Division 2 match up this Friday in the “chair city”. Gardner had a bye week last week and is 2-0 after beating Hudson and Clinton. The Wildcats should be healthy. The Rams can win in Gardner. The Hill have better lineman and their skill people are better. Nice to see the Rams get on the winning track against a good Grafton team by stopping UCONN bound running back Obi Melifonwu last week. The Hill played great defense and controlled the line of scrimmage. The LeBlanc brothers, Kevin and Michael, Sam Cooke, and Chris Dutting have got to be tougher than the Wildcats in Gardner on Friday night. Is the Ram defense up to the challenge? It’s Auburn next week. Keeping Gardner running back Jamison Craft around 60 yards is the key for the Rams.
BAY PATH (2-1) over BURNCOAT (1-2) AT BP SATURDAY 1PM
Congratulations to Bay Path coach Al Dhembe on your 200th victory at Bay Path. They do not make them like Coach Dhembe anymore. All 200 wins at the same school over 30 years of dedication and loyalty. I have called Dhembe’s program the best kept secret in the state for decades. Dhembe has never changed since day one back in the seventies. Hard working, being organized, and humility have been his keys for success. His teams are fundamentally sound and they play hard until the whistle is blown. No fancy uniforms, no fancy coaches attire. Just old fashioned perseverance that out hustles adversity everytime. We love you Al at this address. My only wish is that you got the credit you really deserved from outside South County.
AUBURN (40-0) over MILBURY (1-2) AT AHS FRIDAY 7 PM
The Rockets destroyed the X factor last week against a city team that swaggered into Auburn. There was no X factor, believe me. The scoreboard tells the truth.” No excuses”. I have to call the MIAA this week and suggest that Auburn goes to Fitton Field on “Turkey Day” and that X factor city team return to Drury Square on Thanksgiving to play Oxford. Auburn and St.John’s at Fitton Field would be unbelievable. St.Peter’s is opting out of the rivalry with SJ anyway after this year.
NORTHBRIDGE (2-1) over SOUTHBRIDGE (1-2) AT NHS FRIDAY 7PM
This game used to be the traditional opener for both teams. Southbridge seems a bit down this year and I really cannot figure Northbridge out so far. Both coaching staffs are excellent and have been around forever. I can see Northbridge being a factor as the season gets in full swing. However, Southbridge is going to struggle as they go forward. The Spectowner’s numbers are down and there are two months to go until these Pioneers host Bartlett.
Last week: 5-2 Overall: 13-6
South County Top Seven :
1. Auburn 3-0
2. Shepherd Hill 2-1
3. Bay Path 2-1
4. Tantasqua 2-1
5. Bartlett 1-2
6. Oxford 1-2
7. Southbridge 1-2
Week 3 Picks
HERE ARE MY PICK’S FOR WEEK 3
ST.PETER’S (2-0) over AUBURN (39-0)
The streak ends at 39 for the Rockets. We all tip our hat to Auburn for being the measuring stick, but this St.Peter’s team has the X factor for this toe to toe heavyweight battle. Guardian senior QB Steve Flynn has been there since he was a freshman and now it is his turn. The X factor is city kids are not Holliston kids. Auburn has not seen anything like this during the last 39 games. Flynn has been shouldering the load by himself since he was a freshman and the sun will shine on him now that he has a supporting cast. Once again, Aubun has been the measuring stick and 39 victories in a row is unbelievable. All great things come to an end.
Saturday at Nipmuc 1 PM BARTLETT (1-1) over NIPMUC (1-1)
It was great to see the Indians get a win last week. The tandem backfield of DiStefano and Kirby-Thomas is as good as it gets around here.Nipmuc is a challenge as they doubled up on Bartlett last year 40-20.Nipmuc has a solid line in Moore, McDonald, Sewell and Ferrucci. Bartlett will have their hands full in the trenches.QB Mike Smith returns for Nipmuc.D- coordinator for Bartlett, Mike Tolman, needs to be aggressive this week with his troops.
Friday 7 pm at Grafton SHEPHERD HILL (1-1) over GRAFTON (1-1)
Very interesting away game match up for the Hill this Friday night. Grafton runs the same type of offense, the double wing, as Shepherd Hill. How the Rams rebound from their tough emotional loss last Friday night will be the key. The Rams have committed eight turnovers in two games. They have to get better in this area as they have Gardner and Auburn after Grafton the next two weeks. This game is really a game Shepherd Hill needs to identify themselves.Who are these Rams? The Shepherd Hill football team WAS in the top ten last week and beat some pretty good teams in the pre season. Since pre season, Shrewsbury beat a good Marlboro team last week and Saint John’s is 2-0 and Narragansett is 2-0.Shepherd Hill handled these teams in pre season.
Friday 7 PM at DP DAVID PROUTY (1-1) over OXFORD (1-1)
Mr.Prouty opened my eyes when they beat Northbridge last week. But then again, Northbridge panics when they see the double wing. Oxford is coming off a nice win against South last Thursday night. Pirate QB Dylan Brace well continues to improve and running back Nick Lemay has been consistent. Oxford needs a huge effort from linemen Chris Burley and Alex White against the Panther offense. Pirate Mike D’Alio could be the catalyst for Oxford.
Saturday 1 PM at BP BAY PATH (1-1) over SOUTH (0-2)
It is only fitting that Bay Path gives Coach Al Dhembe his 200th victory at home on Mugget Hill. Dhembe’s 200 win journey started over 30 years ago with a few assistant coaching jobs along way. His first coaching job was at Boston English in the seventies during the terrible bussing issues in Boston. After that, Dhembe was the first defensive coordinator for Leo Biron at Shepherd Hill when the football program was in it’s first year at Shepherd Hill in 1975.Dhembe then took the Bay Path job for a few years and returned to his alma mater at Tantasqua as an assistant to Bob Warren and Tantasqua and won the old Border Conference in 1988.Dhembe then returned to Bay Path for good and the rest is a remarkable feel good story. Good Luck Al, we love you and what you have accomplished. You did it the right way.
At Commerce Field Saturday 1 PM SOUTHBRIDGE over NORTH
At Sturbridge Friday 7 PM NORTHBRIDGE over TANTASQUA
Last week (3-4) Overall (8-4)
This week’s top seven in the South County
1. Auburn 2-0
2. Shepherd Hill 1-1
3. Bay Path 1-1
4. Oxford 1-1
5. Bartlett 1-1
6. Tanatsqua 1-1
7. Southbridge 1-1
Peter's Pigskin Picks - Week 2 - 9/14/11
BARTLETT over QUABOAG IN WEBSTER FRIDAY 7PM
The Hometown Indians hung real tough with Northbridge last week for a half and that is a good sign. Now they can do their business this week at Homecoming. The tandem backfield of Rocco DiStefano and DJ Kirby-Thomas could be the best package in South County. Both backs gained over 100 yards each last week. Credit the offensive line for that stat. Look for Bartlett to earn a much needed victory before their Homecoming crowd in the Oxford Insurance game of the week.
OXFORD over SOUTH THURSDAY NIGHT AT COMMERCE FIELD
7 PM
The Pirates are traveling to the turf in Worcester on a very rare Thursday night game. Oxford has got to win the games they are supposed to win like they did in 2010.This is a game they should win. I am hearing great things about Pirate running back/linebacker Nick Lemay and also the leadership of quarterback Dylan Bracewell. Both are seniors and are captains along with wide receiver Mike D’Alio and linemen Chris Burley and Alex White. This game against South is the first of three straight away games for the Pirates.
SHEPHERD HILL over ST.PETER’S AT SH FRIDAY 7PM
This is the best game in the south county this weekend. Both teams had opening game victories on the road last week.St.Peter’s beat a Fitchburg team that was without the best player in the state and the Rams of Shepherd Hill did not bring their ‘A’ game to Westboro and still won 30-28.Both these programs have scrimmaged each other for decades and now they play for real. This is a Division 2 game for both teams in the standings for post season play.Should be a great game from a fans perspective. Shepherd Hill needs to control the line play so Wilga,Peck, and Ravenelle can breathe a little. The LeBlanc brothers have got to handle things up front.
BAY PATH over WEST BOYLSTON AT WB FRIDAY 7PM
Bay Path is coming off a great win at Oxford last week and travel again this Friday night to West Boylston. Look for Bay Path to go 2-0 in the early season. Coaching, coaching, and more coaching is done on Mugget Hill day in and day out. This is Al Dhembe’s 30th year as the Head coach at Bay Path.Dhembe needs one more wins to get to 200.All 200 has come at Bay Path. Truly remarkable. Look for Edstrom and Josh St.Laurent to carry the offensive load for the Minutemen.
AUBURN over HOLLISTON AT HOLLISTON FRIDAY 7PM
As always, I tip my hat to Auburn. Great program, great coaches, great kids. Holliston is a formidable opponent this week, especially on the road. Holliston is a Division 3 program in the Tri-Valley league for all the Auburn dad’s who are comparing Holliston to Joe Paterno’s Penn State program. Holliston is not going to stop the “streak”, but they will make it very interesting.
SOUTHBRIDGE over VALLEY TECH AT VT SATURDAY 1PM
This game would never have happened in the seventies, but times have changed and Southbridge is down on their numbers. Valley Tech is a Division 6 football school. Southbridge is a Division 4 football school. There are six Divisions in Central Mass this year. In the seventies we had three divisions. Everybody doesn’t have to go to the playoffs, but almost every school plays after Thanksgiving Day.
DOHERTY over TANTASQUA AT TANTASQUA FRIDAY 7PM
Tough game for the Sturbridge eleven.
Last week’s Pick’s: 5-0
Overall: 5-0
Top Seven in the South County:
1. Auburn 1-0
2. Shepherd Hill 1-0
3. Bay Path 1-0
4. Tantasqua 1-0
5. Oxford 0-1
6. Bartlett 0-1
7. Southbridge 0-1
Peter's Pigskin Picks 9-7-11
The High School Football season is upon us and in seventy
hours, the Pigskin will fill the air all over the commonwealth.

lot to write and talk about. Once again, the Oxford Insurance
Agency will be picking the player of the week and the
lineman of the week. Please go to oxfordinsurance.com to

page. Please give me your opinions and yes, the facebook
page will be a forum for the football picks and for all
the other sports that are played in the south county. Let’s
make the south county a leader in high school sports. As I
look into my crystal ball, this is what I see for week one.
Week One
THE OXFORD INSURANCE GAME OF THE WEEK
ON WGFP AM 940
Bay Path at Oxford
PLEASE JOIN MATT MORWAY AND PETE GEANIS
FOR THE COMPLETE PLAY BY PLAY AND COLOR
COMMENTARY FOR THIS WEEK’S HIGH SCHOOL
FOOTBALL GAME.
The Picks
BAY PATH over OXFORD at Oxford 7 pm Friday night
pre game 6:45 pm on AM 940 WGFP.
By far the best schoolboy opener in South County. Two
evenly matched teams that bring the same qualities to the
opener. Both return the same amount of skill players and
both have enough linemen to make this a close exciting
game. Plus it’s a neighborhood game and the proximity
from school to school could make a very good 5k road race.
Bay Path gets the nod in this one, but not by much. Whoever
has the fewest turnovers will win. Look for the all
important special teams to be the difference maker. It will
be a great atmosphere in Oxford and a great way to kickoff
south county high school football.
NORTHBRIDGE over BARTLETT at Memorial Field,
Webster 7 PM
Not a kind opener for the Indians. Playing Northbridge
on week four or five isn’t bad, but week one is tough. The
good thing is that it gets a monster opponent out of the way
early. These Indians had to open up with David Prouty last
year. Where is the justice? Next week is Homecoming for
Bartlett against Quaboag. Let’s keep the franchise healthy
against the passing Rams of Whitinsville this week so the
green and white can Rock next week.
SHEPHERD HILL over WESTBORO at Westboro on
Saturday 1 pm
The Rams had a great pre season as they showed and
proved that they can move the football. They dominated on
offense against Shrewsbury, Burncoat, St.John’s, and Narragansett.
It didn’t matter what part of the field they were
on, they performed like the it was mid season. A Shrewsbury
assistant coach said,” they are big and strong up front
and they have great leadership from their quarterback”.
The Hill travels to an interesting venue on Saturday.Westboro
has that Division one swagger that could slap Shepherd
Hill in the face. The preseason is over for the Rams.
Westboro is waiting on their artificial turf.
AUBURN over SHREWSBURY
Auburn is the model program not only in South County,
but in central mass. The cycle continues this year, but
many of us will see that the Rockets have their blemishes.
You can only be consistent for so long. Shrewsbury always
poses a threat in a traditionally low scoring opening game
over the years, but not this year. Look for Auburn to score
some points.
TANTASQUA over SOUTHBRIDGE
This game was always played on the first weekend in
November. Recently it has been moved as the opener for
these two bordering towns. I haven’t heard anything about
either team in pre season. One thing is for sure, the game
will call a moment of silence in respect of the recent passing
of former Southbridge coach Donald “Mingo” Marino.
SOUTH COUNTY TOP SEVEN
1. Auburn (0-0)
2. Shepherd Hill (0-0)
3. Bay Path (0-0)
4. Oxford (0-0)
5. Tantasqua (0-0)
6. Bartlett (0-0)
7. Southbridge (0-0)
What is Term Life Insurance?
It's true-deciding on a life insurance plan can be tricky. With the various plan options and the different components that make up each of them-it's easy to get overwhelmed.

Term Life Insurance tends to be the easiest to understand, and is considered one of the "lower cost" insurance options. Generally speaking, Term Life Insurance provides death benefit protection without any savings, investment or "cash value" components.
Term Life Insurance is available for set intervals of times; such as 10, 15, 25 or 30 years. With "Annual Renewable Term Life" your policy will automatically renew and your premiums will increase yearly. There is also the "Level Term Life Insurance" option if you want your premium to remain the same for the duration of your policy. There is even yet another option called "Decreasing Term Life Insurance" where your premiums can remain the same but your death benefits will decrease slowly over time.
Term Life Insurance tends to be a popular choice because of the extended rate-guarantee periods; but what it all really comes down to is what you feel best fits your unique coverage needs.
So, give us a call today; all of our dedicated agents at Oxford Insurance Agency, Inc. would be happy to assist with your Life Insurance questions; because understanding your coverage needs is the first step to insuring your life the right way!
